The Footings and Foundation

Thursday  September 27, 07 - The footings for the new cottage are in place.

The footings are formed and filled.  This is the basic footprint of the exterior of the house.  Notice the excavation of the project is very tight and at the property lines or less.  Each property line is 4'-6" from the side of the Cottage.

Once the footings have been placed, then the foundation walls are formed and poured.  The walls have a brick appearance on the exterior of the walls.  The walls are then coated with black tar damp proofing.

The concrete mud slab in the crawl space is then poured and finishes off the lower area that will be under the Cottage.
