Excavation for the new home.

Date: November 29, 2007 - The existing cottage came down in about 30 minutes. Alpers Excavation completed the job and the site was great.

The excavation of the new house foundation is underway.  And of course the snow has started also.  There is pea stone placed under the entire foundation and floor of the crawl space.  This is to direct the water under the foundation of the house to the lakes edge.

And of course we have clay that needs to be dug out before any of the work can be done to the area.  There is a drain tile around the entire foundation area as well as under the floor of the crawl space.    This is then ran to the waters edge to let the water escape.
